Celebrating Wordsworth

The four choral works to be performed are all based on Wordsworth’s poetry. Gerard Finzi’s Intimations of Immortality was first sung in 1950. We are laid asleep is a new short piece by the well known English composer Will Todd. There will also be two pieces by local composers Ian Hare, Springtime in Lakeland and Tamsin Jones, The Daffodils. Cumbria Rural Choirs will be accompanied by the British Sinfonietta, a professional orchestra, and the tenor Mark Le Brocq.
